Lawson Professional Services
Consider cost & resource availability.

Offshore & Lawson Professional Services
Consider cost, resource availability & remote support from the Philippines.

Lawson 9.0 Certified Partner
Consider that certifications are issued at consultant level, not company. Currently consultants at AIC, Paradigm and Hitachi hold certifications.

Customer Certification Program
Consider the cost: an additional $25K (soon to be much more). Understand the pre-requisites and exclusions. You'll perform the migration on your own.

Do it Yourself or use an Independent Service Provider
A valid option but the message being sent is that you will not be supported if you use anyone other than a "certified" resource.

What do these options mean? ...Remember V8?

Lawson clients may remember this same message from version 6.x to 7.x, version 7.x to 8.x and now version 8.x to 9.x. Many clients have successfully upgraded their own environments and applications or leveraged a great relationship with independent service providers to assist with their initiatives.

How is LSF 9.0 any different?

LSF 9.0 Isn't Any Different. First, the term "support" refers to Lawson's Global Support Center (GSC). Interestingly, Lawson's GSC does NOT support any installs or upgrades at any time. They haven't for a few years.

The GSC serves as a first line of issue resolution, mainly for bugs. Any issues that cannot be resolved over a quick phone call are passed along to Lawson Professional Services as a billable activity. Lawson Professional Services is the support arm for all installs and upgrades as a billable activity.

Second, the term "non-supported" refers to the actual install or upgrade step only. This does not mean you have voided your maintenance contract. Once the client is running on their upgraded version, they retain full support of Lawson's GSC and Lawson Professional Services.

So what has changed about the support you will receive with the latest release -ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

What About Training?

Lawson LSF 9.0 certified consultants, Lawson Professional Services and Customer Certification Programs are all great options to achieve your goal of getting to 9.0. Regardless of who you choose to assist you, we recommend the training on the migration process, administration, IBM Websphere and Tivoli, especially if you are not familiar with these products.

If support still remains a concern, contact your representative at Lawson and ask to see where it states in your Maintenance Agreement that you will lose support by doing it yourself or using an independent service provider.
